ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Location and distance have actually become meaningless due to Electronic devices as well as Communication technology that include connectivity from different Medias such as cell phones, the web, and satellites enabling people to connect just by a touch-on switch of their smart phone or computer. Electronics & Communication Engineering Department strives for excellence in creating, applying, imparting knowledge in Electronics through comprehensive educational programs, research in collaboration with industry and government, dissemination through scholarly publications, and service to professional societies, the community, the state and the nation.

Our faculty continues to excel in conducting research at the forefront of Electronics and Communication. Their accomplishments as well as achievements have been extensively acknowledged. The emphasis of our faculty members on research study continues to be complemented by a strong commitment to teaching. Our department organizes different workshops, Seminars, as well as spoken tutorials for students focusing on domain-specific research, providing leadership throughout the whole year.

 Our students have arised by participating and arranging various tech-fests, numerous extra-curricular activities, and social causes (e.g. Blood Donation, Zarurat etc.) inside as well as outside the university. They have shown quality in the scholastic area as well. They have done their internship and placement in numerous reputed organisations like ISRO, DRDO, Samsung, TCS, Ericsson, Rhode and Schwardz, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Anora Labs etc.

A graduate of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Program should:

PEO≠1: Core competence

The Graduates  shall able to use modern techniques, innovate, design, simulate, develop, and test hardware components by pursuing  successful careers in Indian and multinational companies, PSUs as Team Leaders, Managers, Consultants or as entrepreneurs and also to pursue higher education.

PEO ≠ 2: Leadership

The Graduates are provided with an academic environment to become aware of excellence, leadership and the life-long learning needed for a successful professional career.

PEO ≠ 3: Professionalism:

The Graduates of the program shall have professional and ethical attitude, communication skills, multidisciplinary approach and competence to relateengineering issues to broader social perspective.

Programme Outcomes (POs):

All Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates shall demonstrate:

PO1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

 PO3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

 PO6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, Manual for Affiliated / Constituent Colleges NAAC for Quality and Excellence in Higher Education 126 and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

LABORATORY

Engineering education is piecemeal without laboratory practice. The overall aim of engineering education is to prepare students to practice engineering and in specific to deal with the nature of problems faced by society. The laboratory practice has been a key part of professional and engineering education; a laboratory is an ultimate place for dynamic learning. Students study in a real-world environment

The Electronics and Communication department has well established state-of-art laboratories providing modern and sophisticated practical teaching facilities that are constantly upgraded and sufficiently equipped with the latest instruments and apparatus. The motto is to provide students a conceptual as well as practical understanding of the subject through hands-on training.
