About Department

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is one of the five departments at School of Engineering, JECRC University. It administers bachelor's programs in Computer Science Engineering, as well as master's and doctoral degree programs in Computer Science and Engineering. Department of Computer Science and Engineering aims to deliver the best quality technocrats and engineering graduates, cutting edge research and innovative technology with the intent of reforming the society, on a regional and global level. The Department believes in uncovering new knowledge base endorsing innovative research that encourages entrepreneurship and economic development befitting education worldwide. All degree programs trail the core principles of teaching with hands-on laboratory experience thereby preparing students for exciting careers in industry and academia. All the courses offered by the Department are designed keeping in mind the current need and anticipation of future requirements of the market and industry-leading towards the conformance of the students to the need of the hour. Computer Engineering Department at JECRC University emphasizes and focuses on cultivating an intrigue for development, design and maintenance of software as well as hardware systems. The zealous, qualified and experienced faculty members provide excellent academic mentorship and guidance.

The departmental collaboration with Microsoft Corporation promotes leading-edge experiential learning accustoming the latest technologies for our students at the Microsoft Innovation Centre established at University.Professional affiliations and membership with the renowned learned societies such as ACM, USA/IEEE USA,CSI India, IAENG USA etc, have seen rising numbers in pertaining to the count of faculty members and students. Department of Computer Science & Engineering at JECRC University has entered into an Exclusive Partnership with ADOBE to offer Digital Proficiency and Creativity skills using Adobe Spark. This initiative would be a part of Adobe's national program ‘Adobe Digital Disha’. Corporate Outreach cell, JECRC University has signed a MoU with the global leaders in the Robotics Process Automation domain (RPA);UiPath and Automation Anywhere. RPA works in the field of artificial intelligence that allows configuring of computer software, or a “robot” to emulate and integrate the actions of a human interacting within digital systems to execute a business process. Bot Lab has been set up in association with Automation Anywhere to aid the learning with hands-on experiential learning. The students can also leverage the international internship opportunity under IAESTE India LC JECRC is the flagship student exchange program of JECRC University.

The Department has excellent computing facilities associated with peripherals and Software for effective learning. The Department has more than 400 computer systems in 10 computer labs for programming. The labs are equipped with the latest hardware and software. Separate Linux lab with the dual OS is realized with advanced Networking facilities. Industrial tie-up with Microsoft has been appropriated with the Platinum Advantage Centre of Microsoft. The department organizes various co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as Challenging contests, hackathons and more to inculcate social and professional proficiency in the students. Students are actively participated in activities conducted by Professional Societies like IEEE and CSI. There is an outstanding research environment in Technological Domain complemented by excellence in teaching. The state-of-the-art infrastructure and computing equipment are backed by high-speed Ethernet and wireless networks. Skilled and proficient Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) professionals are in great demand both in India and overseas. Some of the companies where our students have been placed are Google, Microsoft, IBM,Accenture, Capgemini, TCS, ZS Associates, MindTree, Extramarks,SopraSteria,EY, Jaro, Byju's, Adnate IT, PayTm, Just Dial, JoshTechnologies, Cisco Systems and many more.

B.Tech. (CSE) Program Outcome (POs): A graduate of the Computer Science and Engineering Program will demonstrate:

PO1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3. Design/Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5. Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal andcultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8. Culture, Values and Ethics: Understand the importance of culture and values along with the implications it has on learning, teaching, engineering practice, identity, and enculturation as an engineer. Apply ethical principles being committed to professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9.  Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
