Engineering being a professional course follows a standard admission procedure. Various national and state level exams are conducted like AIEEE, IEEE, JEE, GATE, RPET, etc. for Admission in Engineering colleges in India. A higher rank in these exams would mean admission in top engineering colleges of India.
The All India Engineering Entrance Examination commonly abbreviated as AIEEE entrance exam is an examination organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. Introduced in the year 2002, this national level competitive test is for admission to various under-graduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the AIEEE score, including 5 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and many other colleges accepting AIEEE scores. The examination is generally held on the last Sunday of April and results are announced in the last week of May or the first week of June. Candidates are ranked on an all-India basis and state basis. Thus, they have an All India Rank (AIR) and a State Rank (SR).
The eleventh edition of AIEEE entrance exam will be held on April 29, 2012 in 65 cities across India. The AIEEE online exam version of AIEEE entrance exam for engineering 2012 shall be conducted between May 7 and May 26, 2012 in 22 cities. The AIEEE online exam will be conducted twice a day i.e. in two shifts. One shift from 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM and another one from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM. Students can choose the timing and dates to appear for the exam according to their convenience.
The minimum academic qualification for appearing in AIEEE entrance exam 2012 is that the candidate must have passed final examination of 10+2 level with physics, mathematics as compulsory subjects and one optional science subject. The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at AIEEE entrance exam shall be limited to three attempts uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years.
Though nearly one million students take the AIEEE entrance exam only small percentage of students will be eligible for AIEEE counseling 2012 on basis of their All India Rank. All admissions to the colleges and Universities offering Engineering courses take place on the basis of ranking in AIEEE and RPET examinations. Recent trends witnessed during the RPET and AIEEE counseling 2012 for B-Tech shows that JECRC is also one of the most preferred college by students for admission in B-Tech courses. JECRC offers 4-year B.Tech degree programmes, which are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to the Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.
